We Love Kicks

Sneakers – Accessories, Style-Element, collector’s item, cultural witness, status symbol.
For decades sneakers have been affecting our appearance, representing cultural
appearances, defining our way of life, are included in sophisticated marketing strategies and
were part of important historical movements. It’s been named after sports legends such as
Stan Smith, metropolis like New York and has brought Chuck Taylor in the basketball hall of
fame.

The sneaker cult started years ago when the manufacturer of sporting goods revolutionized
the common sports shoes and set out to develop lightweight, comfortable sneakers.
In cooperation with famous athletes in popular sports, new styles of dancing, modern
freestyle-sports as well as youth-and street culture this development has led to a global
sneaker following.

Addicted to sneakers for a long time several Swiss and German artists set their sights to turn
their passion into creative artworks. We Love Kicks is born!
In a wide creative range the artists have been creating canvas, watercolor images and
collages made of trenched sneakers. Even real sneakers provided by the Munich Trend-
Fashion-Label Nat2 are painted by the artists.
Now time has come to present the artwork to the public. No matter if you are a sneaker fan,
basketball player, runner, b-boy, musician, designer or an art academic – We Love Kicks
want you to become a part of this small but nice world of the sneakers. You might
understand afterward how this piece of leather is able to enthuse such a big community like
the sneaker lovers are.

Here we see some of the awesome designs that EZRA TPA has been kind enough to show us.

More information on this awesome co-lab here.
